Institutional Grant Policies

As a center of philosophical inquiry, on occasion the Institute awards grants in support of worthy projects and scholars who exhibit extraordinary dedication, proven success, and future promise in realizing this philosophical mission within their own institutions and academic communities.

In doing so the Institute observes the following policies:

  1. The Institute does not accept unsolicited grant requests or proposals.

  2. Awarded grants do not establish a formal collaboration or partnership between the Institute and the grantee unless otherwise outlined in the particular grant agreement.

  3. The Institute maintains a strict 5% cap on institutional assessments on all of its grants to universities, colleges, and non-profit (501c3) organizations.

For more information regarding the Institute’s grant-making protocols and policies, please contact the Patrick Hough, President & Director of the Elm Institute, at patrick.hough@elminstitute.org.
