Human Flourishing and the Secrets of Artificial Intelligence
A Conversation With Andrius Bielskis
12.30-2.00pm | Tuesday, May 13
Elm Library, 31 Whitney Avenue
What are the deepest secrets of Artificial Intelligence (AI)? What’s really going on inside California-based (and other) AI industry companies? What is the political economy of the AI industry? More importantly, how will the technological revolution of AI affect human flourishing? Is the promise of an AI-driven technological singularity—in the form of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)—a reality or an ideological fiction? How should we theorize the ontology of AI?
Andrius Bielskis is Director of the Centre for Aristotelian Studies and Critical Theory at Mykolas Romeris University, Vilnius, and Professor of Philosophy at Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania.
This event is open to all members of the Yale community. Lunch will be served.
