Courtney Skipton Long (Postdoctoral Research Associate, YCBA) and Peter Wicks (Scholar-in-Residence, Elm Institute) will discuss the changes in the theory and practice of punishment in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Britain and their legacy in the contemporary prison system.
