The Ethics of Revolution

A half-day seminar exploring the ethics of revolution, examining the thinkers who influenced debates surrounding the circumstances in which revolution can be justified at the time of the American Revolution as well as present-day debates concerning the ethics of revolutionary action. Readings include selections from Aquinas, Hobbes, Locke, Hannah Arendt and Allen Buchanan. Led by Peter Wicks.
