Philosophy of Writing

It is sometimes claimed that there is an especially close relationship between writing and thinking; the struggle to express ideas on the page is intimately connected to the struggle to get them clear in our own mind. Is this true, and if so what are the implications? What role do different kinds of writing play in the development of our interior lives and how will be availability of increasingly sophisticated AI programs like Chat-GPT change what it means to be a writer?
