A half-day seminar exploring the ethics of revolution, examining the thinkers who influenced debates about the legitimacy of revolution at the time of the Declaration of Independence as well as present-day philosophical work on the ethics of revolutionary action. Readings include selections from Aquinas, Hobbes, Locke, Hannah Arendt and Allen Buchanan. Led by Peter Wicks.
